Very nice pho. No.3 and No.20 are very good!Ginger chicken is also delicious~
VERY unassuming place with great pho.
Eat the Vietnamese dishes! Pho broth is authentic love the bun dishes -vermicelli -rice noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls and salad mix; I love the pickled daikon & carrot mix in this dish. Service was quick and friendly. Restaurant atmosphere is dated, BUT if you're looking for reasonably priced meals try this place!
The BEST Vietnamese Beef Stew I've ever had. The meat is so tender and delicious and the broth is perfectly seasoned. Also you can chose it to come with noodles or with warm French bread baggets ( they give you 2)(
One of my go-to places here in Hilo. As a local, I visit here quite often because of their delicious food and reasonable pricing. Customer service is OK, it can use some improvement. Sometimes the food takes a while to come out even though it is slow. The charbroiled shrimp plate is my absolute favorite. I really recommend this place and dish.
The wait time was atrocious, but the food was fantastic!!! Would have given 5 stars if we didn’t have to wait an hour for the food.
Soup.they are all about soup. They have a lot of other stuff but it's the soup. Did I talk about the soup yet? Got to go by and enjoy. Thanks
Don't know how they got such a high rating. The b!tch who served us didn't ask if we're alright and she straight up ignored me when I asked for water, and we never even have our water filled. Maybe it's because of our race but definitely not coming back here.
This is one of those local gems...service is OK and food is good and hot..on land side of Icepond it has adequate parking and can sometimes have a waiting line.
Enjoyed my meal, but wife's pho, the meat was a little fatty.
We went to this place for Pho as it's the only place that serves or served vegetarian broth for pho. We also ordered Vegetable fried rice. The rice had a hair in it. When we told the waitress, she didn't even apologize or anything. She just assumed we didn't want to pay for the dish and rudely told us the total of the bill. The pho wasn't great either. Used to be better. Seems like the new management has also gotten rid of the cooks.
Good eats at descent prices. Friendly staff and service.
The best beef stew ever. Het it with noodles in the French bread.
Humble decor and great service from the owners. This quaint little corner offers delicious authentic Vietnamese fare.
Hands down best Pho in whole Hilo good prices very nice family
I've had pho in Vietnam and all over the United States. I love pho for the rich complicated beef broth flavor that takes a long time to make. Unfortunately I didn't get that flavor at the restaurant. The combination meat pho was just ok. The broth was bland and not much flavor. The meatballs were good but the tendon was not and the flank steak average. There didn't give you much for basil which I like. Maybe I came in a day they didn't have time to make a good broth. I hope that's the case.
Quality of food was above average compared to most of the food in the city which are below average. We had the $8 pho and chicken banh mi in house and got the pork banh mi to go. If you are visiting and looking to fill up your pho craving, you can rely on this place. The beef broth is rich and is a good base of what pho should be. The bean sprouts and jalapeño provided were not fresh but the Thai basil and mint were OK. The banh mi was ~$7 each w/tax. It’s a bit pricy and missing the smear of pâté and mayo that it usually has on the mainland but the pickled radish and carrots were very refreshing and the meat was tasty. The bread was toasted so it was hot and crispy yet soft on the inside. Was personally a tad too buttery but would still definitely recommend as a snack you can bring to enjoy on the beach or a hike!
The meal was good. But the serving is really bad. We had to find the seats, figure out where are the manu and go to the counter to let them know we are ready to order.
Love the pho. Always good.
Good food and price
Best hair cut for cheap..🙏👍👍
quang thang soup is legit, pho is very flavorful. wonderful husband and wife who so friendly and cooked all the food herself
Good quality vietnamese
Delicious Bun, vermicelli bowl with crispy imperial rolls with meat of your choice!
Extremely good taste! We finished all our dishes. The soup and noodles are particularly nice, Cooked just enough to retain the texture. Must have a try!Recommendation: no.3 and 20FYI, The owner is Vietnamese, dun really understand English, but it doesn't matter, u just need to let him know the number of your preferred dishes.
2 OPEN signs but closed. When I asked what time they open I was originally told in 15 minutes. 15 minutes later I was told 30 minutes more.
I love food here.
The pho was good. It’s a small quiet spot close to the airport with good service, decent prices and authentic fare. Be warned, if you sit in the side room off the main dining area, if the door is open you are going to have to battle flies. It’s Hawaii. There‘s no getting away from it.
Excellent pho and Trang is very personable.
I had the Seafood with Rice Noodles in house, and one order to go. It was great. Lots of carrots, bok choy, and other good stuff in there in addition to the seafood. Their broth was nice, not oily like I have had at other places. Staff was accommodating, and my take-home order was ready to go when I was. Good selection of Sriracha, pepper/garlic sauce, and other spicy accouterments at each table. I had seen a few previous posts about the (lack of) decor , but was satisfied with the layout, presentation and cleanliness of the dining areas during my visit. It is definitely no frills though. From the side dining room, there is a view of the pond area across the street, if that's your druthers. I'm glad I stopped in. This place will probably become a regular haunt for me.
I love eating here on a cold windy rainy day. The food always fresh and yummy.
It’s delicious!!
I have enjoyed every meal I've had here.
Really good food with friendly service at a great price
During a recent visit my husband and I were craving pho and after a few searches found this place had great reviews. We both got the pho go which came quickly and was so delicious. The only downside is the location as it’s a bit further from downtown Hilo.
I liked this place. We had been trying to get Thai food for a couple days but everything was closed. The food and waitress was great. My wife thought the medium heat was a bit much for her but I enjoy the heat.
I love this place, flavorful Pho, crispy spring rolls, delicious dipping sauce. I like the combination Pho, the tendon makes it delicious.
Well no judgement on the food but we arrived at 10:30 they are not opened yet, which supposed to open at 10am, I know the slow/lazy life style but we don’t want to waste our time
I was thinking 4* because I wasn't a fan of the plastic seat covers and the interior in general is quite poor, but the food was delicious and the service very friendly. Two huge bowls of delicious pho and very good summer rolls for 30 bucks and change = two happy campers :)
Great vegetable and various fresh wonderful choices to enjoy. Check for hours and location across from the Hilo Bay, on Kalanianaole off of Hwy. 11.
The chicken bbq could have had more meat, but the flavor was excellent. Pho portions are substantial.
Pho and Vietnamese coffee was good. The prices were very low. Also had a nice view of the pond.
We've eaten here a few times over the years. We just moved down the street, and figured we'd try lunch, wasn't any better. Spring rolls were good, but main dish was terrible. Never had Pad Thai taste so bad, Maybe they thought we were getting back on the boat, no people... we F'ing LIVE HERE, but, no matter we won't be back here ever again.
The food was excellent, though the service was odd. The place was packed to I ordered to go, but that took awhile to accomplish because the teller was also the server... All in all my visit didn't take too long but I can see why others have mentioned the wait time. There were only three employees for the busy dinner rush and I can see that a larger order might take awhile. Still, it was excellent food so if you can wait, go for it!
Quaint and authentic. We had pho and were quite satisfied. Located next to the airport and across the street from a picturesque lagoon.
It’s pretty good. The Vietnamese food here is decent and good as it should be. Nice view of ice pond across the street. Service is a little lacking for such a small place, otherwise I’d rate it better.
Very mediocre. Food looked lovely, but had very little flavor. Even though we ordered medium spicy. Just not much going for it, and nothing too particularly recommend it.
If you're expecting fine dining. Not the place for you. It's a hole in the wall but worth it. The hu tieu seafood soup if effing amazing... Seriously, could not stop thinking about this broth. It would be 5 stars if the interior had an upgrade. Cute staff, totally a family run business. Would definitely go back.
Best Korean Chicken I ever ate! Nice people, good service.
By standards of the island, the food was great. Service tried but was a hair chaotic.
